The 74-metre Lürssen Aurora has been delivered after finishing her sea trials last month. She is set to leave on her maiden voyage later in June to the Mediterranean, where she will enjoy her first season with her new owners. Aurora’s exterior and interior styling is the work of the Winch Design team, and meets the owner’s brief for a yacht that he could enjoy with his family, and also had areas that are intimate and personal. “The owner’s family have happily enjoyed yachting for many years,” says Lürssen managing partner Peter Lürssen. “After gaining so much experience, they had no doubts with whom to build their first bespoke yacht. We are happy that we have met the high expectations of the owner, both in terms of product quality and being able to deliver within budget and on time.”

“Rich mahogany and stainless steel adorn the exterior profile, reflecting the romance of transatlantic liners and giving the yacht a timeless grace,” the yard says. “Aurora has her own authentic charm. She is a modern interpretation of an old classic, with a number of innovative features such as a large port light to the main staircase and custom, state-of-the-art exterior lighting across each deck.” All the decks of the Lürssen Aurora were built taking family spaces into consideration. Numerous artworks can be found on the bridge deck, which features an aft bar. Aurora’s interior – following the vision of the owner, who was heavily involved in the design process – has an Art Deco feel and takes inspiration from key artists and designers from the period.

The build team for the Lürssen Aurora was made up of Moran Yacht & Ship, the owner’s project manager, the design team from Winch Design and the project team from Lürssen.
