was hauled out onto the hard and placed into a custom 85mx8m climate-controlled cocoon at Monaco Marine La Ciotat on the 3rd October, for a scheduled nine weeks of work. Her repaint consisted of 1000 square metres of external surfaces, which was done in the yacht’s signature matte black. The spraying was done in one go by 25 painters from Rolling Stock.

“Black matt paint is a very delicate paint. It requires a careful preparation of the paint and coatings, as well as a continuous application to render the rare non-reflective and soft texture appearance. The previous paint must not interfere with the new paint coat.” Cyprien Milhe, Project Manager at Monaco Marine. The Monaco Marine team was led by Cyprien Milhe and Greg Isett on the project side and Nicolas Genelot on the commercial side. The project was delivered a week ahead of schedule.

“Air is very unique. Its hull colour defines this boat and we all held our breath during the repaint. We were stunned about the perfect finish. That the yacht could be ready before the set date was even more satisfying.” Steve Warren, Captain of Air.

Air was back in the water on 2nd December and departed the shipyard on 9th December. She is currently in the Dominican Republic.
