One of the most striking superyachts at the recent Yachts Miami Beach was the Princess 40M Anka. With her startling blue hull (officially, the colour is called ‘turquoise island’), the 40.2-metre launched in 2015 – the fifth hull in Princess’s hugely popular 40M series.

Anka sleeps 12 guests in five suites (two of which sport pullmans). The flexible layout means that two lower-deck twins convert to doubles. Guests are looked after by seven crew in what Princess claims is “the largest internal volume in her class”.

“Within the parameters of the 40M’s hull and superstructure, owners of course have almost carte blanche to create the yacht of their dreams – no two will ever be alike. You can choose from either four or five guest cabins on the lower deck, for example, and you can choose to have a cinema instead of one of the midships cabins down below, and a gym in place of the other one,” the yard says.

Big windows and hydraulically folding balconies on both sides really open up the main deck salon and dining area. The full-beam owner’s suite, forward on the main deck, is entered through a space that can be specced as an office, TV room, or library.

On the upper deck, the sky lounge leads to an exterior dining area aft, while stairs lead up to the sundeck with bar, seating, sunbathing and a huge spa tub. Anka’s stern garage has space for a 6.2-metre tender and two PWCs.

Twin MTU 12V diesels deliver a top speed of 22 knots. Anka is available for charter through Princess Yacht Charter. She operates in the Eastern and Western Med in the summer from €150,000 per week and winters in the Caribbean from €135,000 per week.
