Kaliskia, Schinos and the South of Poles are remote and secluded beaches located in the south-eastern coast of Kea. Most of the beaches found in this area are beautiful with clear blue waters and can be accessed only by boat or through some dirt paths. Kaliskia is found south of Poles (ancient Karthea) beach and can be reached through a path from Pigadaki area.
The landscape is pure cycladian, absolutely unspoiled and it is ideal only for those who seek isolation. It is obvious that there are not any facilities around.
Schinos beach is located further to the south of Kaliskia, after some other lovely coves. It has a marvelous natural environment and transparent emerald blue waters. However the remainings of a fish farm which is now closed, spoils the scene. Some efforts have been made by locals in order to persuade the authorities to remove the fish farm remainings. We hope that this will take place soon.
There are also a few more lovely coves and beaches in the area that are worth exploring.
