PLATYS (PLATIS) GIALOS beach in LIPSI (LEIPSOI) ^Featured

Platys Gialos (Platis Gyalos) is a beautiful sandy beach, found on the northwestern coast of Lipsi. It has a narrow sandy shore and marvelous crystal and transparent turquoise waters and it is not organised. However, it has a nice taverna (opened only in high season). For those who don't have a private boat you may reach it by bus, car, bike or on foot (apx 1 hour walking). Due to the quite frequent bus schedules, it is one of the most popular beaches of the island.

ANCHORAGE INFO: Platys Gialos cove is very well protected from the S and SW winds and partially protected from the NW (meltemi). Sandy sea botom, very good holding. Attractive landscape, calm and lonely after swimming hours, taverna closed at night.
