DECK & INDUSTRIAL MACHINERY: WIND LASSES, WARPING CAPSTANS, TRAWL WINCHES e.t.c.

The company has been established in 1963 by ANTONY D. TSIMPLAKIS and GEORGE A. KIRANIS in Piraeus, aiming to the designing, manufacturing and marketing all kinds of mechanical constructions. The company was dealing for a number of years with the design and production of machinery for food and chemical industries. In 1975, Mr DEMETRIOS A. TSIMPLAKIS and Mr. ANDREAS G. KIRANIS, the sons of the two first partners, have entered the company and it has got its final legal shape as “MELKA EPE” (MELKA LTD). At that time, in parallel with the other works it started the design and production of deck machinery (WIND LASSES, WARPING CAPSTANS, TRAWL WINCHES e.t.c.) with remarkable technical improvements. This line of products has been widely accepted in the market in a short period of time. The company is qualified and accepted as an official supplier of deck machinery by Greek Navy and other associations and state research institutes, after testing and certifications by Ship Register. In the mean time the founders of the company have retired and the company continued with the rest two partners until 1996. At that date Mr. A. Kiranis had left the company, transferring his shares to Mrs Ang. N. Tentzeri – Tsimplakis. Since then the company is directed by Mr. D. Tsimplakis , aiming to the continuous progression and the technical improvement of its products. The success is obvious from the big number of ships which are equipped with our winches.
