A new yachting association called GYA (Greek Yachting Association) has been announced today, founded by Greek professional yachting companies which are involved in all fields of Charter, Brokerage, Management, Insurance and Construction of large yachts. GYA and its Members claim to represent over 90% of the Crewed Charter Yachts in Greece under Central Agency Agreement.
According to the founders the objective of this Association is to:
- maintain high standards of professionalism in charter, sales and yacht management
- closely cooperate with MYBA association as MYBA members and MYBA companies
- organize an annual charter yacht show for the Greek and foreign flag charter yachts, under Central Agency Agreement.
GYA has also announced the first Mediterranean Yacht Show which will take place in the historic city of Nafplion between the 3rd and the 7th of May 2014. May looks busy for Greek Yachting since there is also the Poros East Med Yacht Show scheduled between the 2nd and the 7th of May, from the Hellenic Yacht Brokers Association. There are serious signs of recovery for Greek Yachting with raising markets like Russia and the Arab countries paying increasing attention to Greece.
We truly wish the newly established association to fulfill its goals and assist the further development of Greek Yachting, which definitely deserves one of the top positions internationally.
