IGY Marinas has completed its dredging project at Yacht Club at Isle de Sol on St Maarten, opening up the marina to superyachts with a draught of up to 5.3 metres (17ft 6in). The completed work will allow the Yacht Club at Isle de Sol to better serve sailing yachts competing in regattas and competitions in the north-eastern Caribbean, such as the Heineken Regatta in St Maarten and the Bucket Regatta and Les Voiles in St Barths, the company says.
“IGY Marinas is excited to see Yacht Club at Isle de Sol’s dredging project come to fruition just in time for peak season in the Caribbean,” says Tom Mukamal, CEO of IGY Marinas. “This investment will allow deeper draught vessels to visit St Maarten for the first time. It is also consistent with our track record of capital investment in our portfolio to maximise the value of our infrastructure for our customers and stakeholders.”
Yacht Club at Isle de Sol – a 5-Gold Anchor award-winning marina destination – hosts 40 superyacht berths on a private island, with the ability to accommodate vessels in excess of 91 metres LOA. Marina amenities include 24-hour gated security, a remodelled fitness centre, tennis courts and swimming pool, and IGY Marinas’ island-inspired restaurant concept Fat Turtle. Visitors can also enjoy shopping, entertainment and waterfront dining options in close proximity to the facility.
