Boat shows aren't just the place to see new launches, they are also a showcase for some of the most interesting yachts that yards have launched or that brokerage houses have on their books. Here is a selection of some of the best to see at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show this week.
Savannah
Why is she so special? Launched in 2014 by Feadship, Savannah’s hybrid technology immediately put her on the map, creating more conversation even than her striking looks from CG Design and metallic paintwork. She was one of the first ten superyachts to be inducted into the SuperYachtWorld Hall of Fame and Flibs is her first boat show appearance.
Look out for Outside of her engineroom, other technical marvels include the Nemo Room, a lower-deck salon port and aft with a huge window that goes from the ceiling to far below the waterline.

Itasca
Why is she so special? Itasca has just had a $3m price drop. Built by J and K Smits Scheepswerven in Holland in 1961 as an ocean-going salvage tug, Itasca was in commercial service until 2000 before conversion. Since then, she has circumnavigated the world three times and was one of the first yachts to successfully take on the Northwest Passage. She has just completed her Lloyd’s five-year survey. The hull is ice strengthened, but she’s not all about rugged exploration: she’s comfortable, with facilities that include a spacious gym and sauna.
Look out for The range of 13,000 nautical miles. Itasca redefines the meaning of go-anywhere.
