Tankoa's all-aluminium 50-metre, which launched in February, has been undergoing sea trials
The 50-metre Tankoa Vertige, which launched earlier in the year, has successfully completed recent sea trails, according to the yard. The yacht beat her contracted top speed of 16 knots at half load in tests conducted in a choppy sea with one-metre waves and northerly gusts that at times reached 30 knots.
“The first sea trails, which lasted about eight hours, were simply incredible,” says Edoardo Ratto, general manager of Tankoa Yachts. “Vertige reached a top speed of 16.5 knots at 60% load. She has a range of over 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots, which really makes a difference when going for Atlantic crossings. There was no vibration at all and the decibel readings were inferior to contracted levels – in the owner’s suite and VIP cabin, levels were below 50 decibels.” The yard also confirmed the yacht’s handling was excellent.

The Tankoa Vertige is designed by Francesco Paszkowski with six guest cabins: a full-beam owner’s suite and VIP suite on the main deck, and two VIPs and two guest suites on the lower deck. Key features include a fold-out terrace in the owner’s suite, and a gym and home cinema on the upper deck. The interior is designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design Studio in co-operation with Margherita Casprini and reflects a “modern but warm” atmosphere.
