Steel-and-aluminium new build designed by H2 Yacht Design starts construction at Turquoise Yachts
Exterior styling is by H2 Yacht Design, who collaborated with Turquoise on a recent 77-metre project, and previously designed two 70-metres for the yard, Talisman C and Vicky, launched in 2011 and 2013 respectively. Barracuda builds on the technical platform and styling of those yachts. The interior of Barracuda is designed by Ken Freivokh.
The Turquoise 74-metre Barracuda has accommodation for 12 in an owner’s suite, two VIPs and four guest cabins. “The guiding considerations have been the enjoyment of the sea and maximum integration between the decks,” the yard says. A striking feature of the exterior is the vertical windows amidships, and a key guest feature inside is the triple-height atrium, with a spiral staircase between the decks and glass floors to further open the spaces up.
The yacht’s owner enjoys a private deck and office, all with great views. The upper lounge can be treated as a private space or a more informal room opening up to a further terrace with dining and seating. At main-deck level, a salon/dining area opens up to the rear terrace, complete with a bar, pantry and raised pool. Also at main-deck level there is an option of a dedicated cinema or a further guest stateroom, plus four further guest suites with panoramic windows. At bridge-deck level there is a sundeck with the option of a gym and bar, and above this another stellar spot in the crow’s nest.
Guests also benefit from the expansive beach club, comprising three shell doors and an opening platform. The tender garage is designed to accommodate a 10-metre limousine tender and a 6-metre day tender for guests.
Earlier this month, Turquoise launched the 47-metre Razan, also designed by H2. Construction at the yard has started on the Nuvolari Lenard-designed 66-metre.
