GIDAKI beach in ITHAKI Featured
One of the most beautiful and exotic beaches in Greece!! Unspoiled with white peebles and sand and lovely transparent turqouise waters reminds you the Cerribean islands! The only facility is a "straw" cantina which (fortunately) looks quite exotic too. Located in the eastern coast of Ithaka, is often protected from winds and has no swell, so it attracts many boaters. We believe that it is a must for boaters that cruise the Ionian Sea.
Gidaki beach is accessible from Vathy, the port capital, via a boat service. There is no road link from Vathy. There is an adventurous hiking trail (20 min) although most tourists favor the boat cruise from Vathy.
There are two boats plying to and from Vathy port to Gidaki beach. The departure times from Vathy are at 10:00 and 11:00 hrs and the pick up timings from Gidaki beach are at 14:00 and 15:00 hrs. respectively. The cruise schedule is so framed so that one can spend a comfortable morning at Gidaki beach and return to Vathy in the evening. The journey from Vathy to Gidaki beach takes around 20 minutes.
Before Gidaki there are two more smaller beaches, similar to Gidaki but not as beautiful.
