CHURCHES in LIPSI
Besides "Panagia Tou Charou" (see separate listing), Lipsi island has some other important churches, such as:
1) AGHIOS IOANNIS THEOLOGOS (Saint John the Theologos) church. It is located in Lipsi Town and it is the island's largest church, therefore seen from almost every point of view.
2) KOIMISI (KIMISI) tis THEOTOKOU church. It is located in the so named little harbour named
3) PANAGIA of KOUSELIO church is built on the remainings of a temple. In the area there are remainings of an ancient settlement which was developped at the classical, Greek Roman and old-christain eras until the 7th century a.d. One may see the remains of an early christian basilica church (5th century) at the site where now is the church of Panagia. A mosaic flooring and a stone skript on the churche's wall. There are also remains of an olive press, buildings, shells, walls etc, in the area. (see separate listing for archaeological sites in Lispi)
4) SAINT NICOLAS churches. They are two churches, located on either side of the harbour
5) ST. THEOLOGOS of MOSCHATO church
6) PROFITIS ILIAS church
7) SAINT NEKTARIOS church
